357 blows up in my hand last weekend

Dam barrel blew in have. Brand new maybe about the 40th shoot out of it. It didnt kick or sound any different..
My brother inlaw was standing right next to me and almost got hit by the rightside of the barrrel. I found both peices about 60 yrds away to the left and right. Was pretty scary

Yeah I took it back to the dealer that I got it from and he told me to get online and report it. No luck so far. I shot and didnt even notice. From my point of veiw I couldnt see the barrel and was about to pull the trigger again. But my bro yells STOP WAIT. I woulda shot it out the cylinder with no barrel. That would not have been good

I've never seen that before, either, and I don't even understand how it can happen. The cartridge explodes in the cylinder, not the barrel. I know there's a lot of gas pressure in the barrel, but hey, it should take it.

Wait a minute, Jeff, you didn't do any hand loading did ya?

Is that a Smith & Wesson, or a Charter Arms?

I thought it looked like a S&W but didn't recognize the logo either. Never heard of a llama (in the steel version at least)

In the third picture there appears to be a gouge on the inside of the barrel. My guess (and it's just a guess) is that a round lodged in the end of the barrel unbeknownst to you, then when you fired the next round, kablooey.
