Custom/JB Forum Event

We are excited to announce another JB Forum event in the making!!! On March 3-6, we are teaming up with Custom Building Products to present a 2 1/2 days training session at their new facility near Long Beach, California. An agenda is under development and input from folks here will be used to formulate which direction that will take. An overview of the product line, an educational look at different technical aspects and some hands-on are in the plans.

This will be a serious, and fun, training opportunity......and Custom Building Products will be providing our participants with hotel and meals!

************************
UPDATED INFO 2/16/2013
Agenda will be uploaded next week (davem out of town).

If you arrive before 1PM and need early hotel check-in, please PM or email Marge.

Arrival/Departure confirmation emails have been sent out. Please let Marge know if A-OK.

To confirm some info:

Dates: Arrival Sunday, March 3 in time for welcome dinner (dinner onboard the Queen Mary)
Training begins Monday the 4th, all day. Tuesday also all day.
Training complete on Wednesday by noon. Recommend no flights before 3pm with traffic.

Airports: Long Beach (LGB) and Los Angeles (LAX) both work. CBP will provide shuttles to/from airports. Orange County (SNA) is third choice, but will work

Custom is paying for meals and hotel (The Queen Mary http://www.queenmary.com/our-story/Our-Story.php ).

I have been asked about spouses....this is a no spouses training event.

CBP is using your list of suggestions as a guide for the agenda.

I also would like to come if you'll have me. I'm pretty sure Mark will also want to come and he will have the money for both of us. This sounds like it's going to be a great event.

For those of you who would need to fly...Los Angeles (LAX), Orange County (SNA) and Long Beach (LGB) are the best choices. However, getting around the LA area is rarely fun anytime. I will confirm with CBP which airports they most recommend.

To clarify, even though Joe seems awfully generous with his money, CBP will be picking up the tab for hotel nights (3) and meals beginning with Sunday dinner and ending with Wednesday breakfast. Participants are responsible for travel to and from California and airport transfers. Daily transfers from the hotel to/from the CBP facility are included.

While I don't have 100% of the info yet, please do not hesitate to ask questions and offer suggestions for what you would like to see covered during this training event.

I'll sticky this thread so it will be easy to find from now on.

Guys, Event Co-ordinator Marge is making a serious attempt here to get an idea how many people might actually plan to attend this function. If you're just playing, please refrain from indicating you'll attend so we can get a moderately realistic idea how much interest there might be. Thanks.

I'm very interested! Need to check a few things, but believe I could commit in the next few weeks.

Topics to discuss...
Fusion
LFT's
Membranes
...are a few that come to mind.

Thanks CBP and Marge!

I'm sure I can't sell leaving gueuzewife in the snow with 2 kids in March to come to sunny California. You all have a good and educational experience.

Besides, nothing personal, but I'd rather visit friends in Long Beach, Venice (beach), and Laguna Beach. And Hollywood. And Hamilton.

Oh, and Dieter too.

Count me in I am always up for visiting with my JB Forum brethren and sisteren, and learning something about Custom and seeing the new facility I think Marge is doing a fine job with her attempt to be serious, for those of us who attended the Mud Seminar we know what she is capable of when organizing an event, she will whip the cats if they get out of line

Going back ta Cali....
