building out wall to be even with tile

Hello all!

I just recently had my Master shower tiled with 1/2" marble. the installer used about another 3/8" - 1/2" of setting material and bullnosed the end pieces. However the setting material is seen and sticks out 1/2" past the greenboard that is jointed to the durock.

What can I do to build out the wall so it is nicely finished to the bullnose. Can I add another 1/2" sheet of drywall ontop of the greenboard, or should I build out the wall with 1/2" inch of two coat veneer plaster?

Hi there, welcome! Gotta first name we can use? You can add the drywall. They should have 3/8" dw too if the 1/2" is too much.

3/8"??? All I have around here is 1/2. Where can I get 3/8? Thanks for the reply...

Hi Sean, Welcome aboard.

Don't know where you are. 3/8 sheetrock is quite common. Home Depot has it from time to time. A drywall supplier in your area will certainly have it.

I can just secure it to the studs over existing greenboard, correct??? WOW...Thanks for the welcome and speedy replies!
