Ditra XL roll sizes

Does ditra XL come in smaller roll sizes than the 175 sq ft one that goes for nearly $300? I only have 30-35 sq ft to cover.

That's the regular 1/8" Ditra. I'm talking about the thicker 5/16" Ditra XL.

Sorry, they all look the same in the picture.

If you'll Google "Ditra XL by the foot", you'll see several options available. Be careful of the shipping costs, though. Sometimes that can cost you double.

One of my local tile stores sells it by the foot.

Try contacting your Schluter rep to see if they can help find a store. My rep gave me a very good recommendation.

Finding what you need by the foot is probably your easiest solution. But, when Schluter was testing whether a thicker version would be useful, they did it first by using a double layer of regular Ditra. Then, they ran the tests to verify it would work...it did, and thus, the advent of the XL variant.

I put an ad on craigslist looking for regular ditra, and a local tile installer responded. He had a couple of random scraps in his garage that he gave me for my very small needs, and if that wasn't enough he was willing to sell me some off his roll. His scraps were plenty.

He also had scraps of the other, thicker, ditra products. I might have been really lucky, but it might be worth a try. Granted, I needed way less than 30 sq ft.
