I'd probably go with this one, which covers bathroom remodeling from beginning to end. It's in two parts, but you can get them both at the same time and save a little scratch.

It's been a while since I've read it, so I can't remember what it covers in regard to waterproofing. If there's very little of that included, I would then recommend the Kerdi Shower book. The Kerdi book starts with the assumption that you have all the knowledge needed in the bathroom remodeling book.

Given your knowledge and skill level, I would recommend you invest some time in reading these books and have a good grasp of what you're doing before you begin. You don't have to have a detailed list of every step, but you should always know the direction in which your headed.

Of course, you can always start a thread here during your remodel, and ask as many questions as you want.

Hi All,

Everything I've written points to the Kerdi Shower System, and that's what I would still recommend. For someone who has never touched tile before, start with the Kerdi Shower Book.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi, all. I bought the Tile Your World book, but should I also buy the other books for Remodeling Bathrooms parts 1 and 2? I am installing floor tile and shower wall tile. Thanks, Patti

Hello, Patti.

The descriptions of both books is here. Take a look and see if they will fit your needs.

For the shower installation, you should determine what waterproofing method you're going to use. If it's a sheet membrane, then John's Kerdi Shower Book will work, even if it's not Kerdi.

Of course, you can start your own thread and get help from the pros and other DIY'ers online.

Book purchase

Yesterday, I purchased this book combo, only to discover that I'd inadvertently purchased (and paid for) two copies of it. Can I get half of my money refunded? I certainly don't need 2 copies of the same books!

Hi John - I purchased your two books (part 1 and 2) and the Kerdi book, but am not able to download them. The links that came in my email receipt do not function.
Thanks much,
