Condo's Shower Build

hello, gents. i have what i think is kind of an odd issue.

what i am looking for, i don't know what its called, so i can't search.

i need 2 shower heads. 1 fixed, 1 with a hose type shower head.
i am looking for a way to switch between those heads. but it must be down low. like by the control handle. my wife is disabled, she cannot reach up high to switch between them.

cost is an issue. i don't know what a all in one unit would cost. perhaps they make some kind of diverter valve that looks nice.

all new shower stall. tile

please advice. thanx

You need a multi function valve or selector valve. Both Moen and Delta have them. I wouldn't use anything cheaper than Moen or Delta otherwise you'll have maintenance issues. You could go with Grohe or Kohler, but they get expensive. Stay away from Peerless or Price Pfister.

Hi Jesse and welcome,

Handshower diverter, installed between shower arm and shower head. Available at any plumbing supply house or box store, maybe a hardware store too.

Oops, the down low part nix's this option. What boilermaker said.

The Moen 3330 rough-in is a pressure balanced valve with a diverter attached.. See pic below. There are several trim kits available, attached is a picture of the Rothbury (or roxbury, or something-bury)

You can have the showerhead or handheld on separately, or both at the same time.

try here... faucet.com

$233 for chrome, other finishes are around 275... I use their sister site (build.com) all the time. shipping is fast, service is good.

condo's new shower build

hello, gents.

here is the first of my new shower problems. used to be a fiberglass stall. going to do all tile. this drain looks(lots of junk around it) to be fitted inside a rubber seal.

i need to know :
1, how to get it out ?
2, what to do with a large hole in 4" slab ?

i am going to do a kerdi shower floor, with a kerdi drain.
it is a MUST that i keep the shower floor and curb as low as possible = wife is disabled = hard time with steps.

shower will be about 3' x 4'.

thanx for the advice.

Jesse,

I merged your two threads on tis project. This forum tries it's best to maintain a "one project, one thread" policy. It helps those trying to help and those following along to have everything asked and answered about your project in one place. If you want it renamed we can do that for you.

I want to make sure that what I see is accurate. Is this ground floor? Many upper levels in condos are in concrete so I want to make sure so we know the facts.

Brian
