Good Sources for Granite Tile in Los Angeles Area?
I'm looking into replacing our existing ceramic tile countertops with granite tile.
Can anyone recommend any Los Angeles area sources for granite tile? Our local Home Depot only stocks two colors (12" x 12" gray and black) and several of our local ceramic tile distributors that I've called don't even stock this. (I have yet to visit the couple of places that do.)
I'm primarily looking for a larger variety of granite colors.
Distributors closer to the Santa Clarita Valley would be nice. (About 45 miles North East of LAX near Magic Mountain)
Thanks
Bob

Sonnie,
Thanks for the fast reply and that link! I somehow missed those guys when I flipped through the local yellow pages.
And I'll keep checking this thread to see if anyone else adds to it.

Walker Zanger is a high end company to work with. Last I knew, they had a showroom in Hollywood, I think it was, might look them up.

Thanks! I had never heard of Walker Zanger before.
They have a number of local showrooms. Here's their granite tile page:

That's cool, Bob. I've never seen any of their websites. Their Dallas manager is a friend of mine... only guy I could find in Dallas to stand up to an evening of straight pool with me!!!
Makes me think... maybe I'll invite ol' Charlie to visit this site.

Here's one that's cheaper than any supplier I've ever seen-- www.blackmarketcarpet.com . I've been told that even with shipping, he'll beat just about anyone's price.

As an update, I called the Stone International folks up yesterday. They're not currently selling granite tile. But they gave me the names of a couple of other local places to check.

John,
Thanks for the help!
No, I hadn't heard of Bedrosians. But I just checked their website and they have a location that's close by in North Hollywood. Maybe I'll swing by there.
Here's their link:
Bedrosians
I also went to Ceramic Tile Outlet (CTO) and they had a very nice collection of granite tiles. Very nice folks there. I bought floor tile from them last year.

I don't know exactly where in LA you are located...but Anaheim is a tiler's paradise. Off the 91, take State College, go south. Around the intersection of Ball Road and State College, you'll start to see the tile/stone shops. It's worth the drive there, I guarantee it.
Try this one for sure, they seem to be the main "supplier" in the area.
Marbolis

Anaheim, CA 92805

**While looking up the address for Marbolis, I found this website, you might find some places closer to you, but I guarantee you, the drive to Anaheim will be worth it.

Thanks so much Sue!
We live in the Santa Clarita Valley which is up by Magic Mountain. Anaheim is definitely within driving distance.

Ahhh! Magic Mountain! Great roller coasters there! I once road Colussus backwards....yee haw!
I love the way we use amusement parks as landmarks!!! BTW, I grew up close to Knott's Berry Farm too!
Really though, check out that area for tile. But also check out that website, it listed quite a few shops in your vicinity.
Good luck on your project!
Sue
