Shower Bench

Ok if you have the shower ready for tile and the customer wants the add a bench. So I decide to use the concrete block method, is there any reason I need to red guard the bench? I do not use red guard on the walls. I use the plastic sheet behind the hardie. I don't see where red guard on the seat is going to do anything.

If you have some of your RedGard on hand, putting it on the top of a "monument type" bench might keep the bench from absorbing as much water and allow it to dry out a bit faster, but there would be no technical requirement to do anything at all to it as far as I can see.

My opinion; worth price charged.
