mixing drill

Any thoughts on a good mixing drill. I have used the 1/2 dewalt for a long time, but wanted to try a different one. maybe one like the Rubi with two handles.

I have used a 2 handle stand up mixer for 15 years and would never go back to a drill. They are also helper proof, meaning that your guys can't burn them up. Though I did have to replace the switch a few years ago cause I let a friend borrow it. I bought mine at home Depot

Good one, Mike. I use a 1/2" variable speed drill from HF as well. Has a screw-in handle on the left side and I think it ran me about thirty bucks......

Does anybody have first hand experience with the 2 handled HF mixer? I know of a couple of folks that have long lasting reduced gear 1/2” drills from them...but none with the 2 handled mixer.

There is just something about harbour freight tools that I cant use on a daily basis. I cant do it.
I was thinking a long these lines but I dont like the paddle.

Mine is a Brutus brand it came with that Helix paddle I swapped it out for a different paddle. Then I found a adapter from Level 5 drywall tools that I could swap between my mortar mixer (the auger) and thinset paddle with out messing with the Chuck. I can never find the Chuck key when I need it.

The spiral mixer is the best as far as a complete mixing goes. I don't have the link, but Dave Gobis posted the results of mixing a while back. Anyone have that?

I bought one of these last year for my guys to use for mixing some exterior mortar used for industrial repairs. Works great and pretty reasonable.

We had a discussion about that Ridgid mixer and it didn't look like it would be effective. I use the 2 paddles in the pictures one is from Ardex and they have a smaller version for smaller batches and grouts. The level 5 paddle is for drywall mud for texture. It is very impressive with the drywall mud no big bubble to pop.

I've got the Rubi mixer. Had it for probably at least 5 years. No problems and use it for every job. Still have the original mixing paddle in it also. I'd buy it again but would probably look into the Collimix one also.
