Mosaic hexagon shower floor grout

Got a question about grouting a shower floor. Ive installed 2" hexagon mosaic on shower floor. Some of the gaps between tiles are 1/8 inch. While others are slightly less. Just an inconsistency in the way they were attached to meshed backing. So.....do I go unsanded grout because of the less than 1/8 inch spaces I have or do I go sanded and really work the joints over? I'd say it's about half and half between 1/8 inch joints and less than 1/8 inch joints throughout.

Daniel, several sanded grouts can go down to 1/16 spacing. I think it's primarily the function of the aggregate size contained in the grout.

What grout are you considering?

Honestly hadn't picked any particular brand/type grout yet. Just finished laying the tile. No mater how I twisted/turned/pushed the 12x12 mat around, I just could avoid a few 1/16 inch spaces between tiles.unless I were to have cut those particular tiles off the matting.

Laticrete Permacolor will go into those joints.

Closest dealer I have for Laticrete is hour and a half away. But hey may be worth the trip for sound mind

If you have Custom products close by, Prism can be used in 1/16 joints also. I would call first to make sure it's available.

In single component grouts Mapei Flexcolor CQ and Custom Fusion Pro.

And if it's a natural stone, Mapei UltraColor Plus FA is a sanded that will work great in a narrow joint.

Is the marble polished? Or just honed?

Tec Power Grout is sanded and works with 1/16" joints. The stuff is really bulletproof in terms of stain resistance too. It's available at Lowes plus a bunch of smaller distributors.
