Can one of youins bright peoples look at this website and tell me if there is a way to purchase one of them handy-dandy lookin' Teleskopleiter Treppenleiters through that site?

Unfortunately my German is very basic but I viewed that site using Chrome which offered to translate the pages into English. In English there is a "buy" option ("Bestellung" in German) which takes you to an order page. it looks like they can take payment via Paypal. Whether they will ship to the US is another matter - I was looking at the flags on the site and assumed they only ship to those countries.

You can try filling out that page and see where it takes you or contact them at their listed contact email - info@teleskopleiter.com - and see what they say.

I hadn't noticed our flag was not in the line on their site. Sent'em an email, so we'll see if they got somebody reads English over there.

Since they appear to sell to the UK I'm guessing that they would have English speaking people on staff. Hopefully you will get a response.

It looks like they sell within the EU which is probably a lot easier for them in terms of doing business than outside. Shipping to the US would probably involve customs paperwork that they may not be familiar with if they do not do business with customers in the US. Plus you may need to pay duty/taxes on the purchase to the US govt when it arrives thereby effectively increasing the price.

Did you see somethings it can do that cannot be done by a ladder available in the US like a Little Giant?

Appears to have all four legs that telescope, Ravin. I've never seen anything like that from Little Giant or anyone else. You?

Only yesterday was I working in an old customer's house and wanted to set a ladder sideways on a set of stairs. I got no such animal and didn't wanna go home and try to cobble together something. Then I Googled a bit and found that site.

I thought the latest ladders from Little Giant had 4 adjustable legs or some kind of attachment that made the 4 legs individually adjustable. I will check their website to see if this is actually something I saw or just imagined.

If you click on the English flag you get the website in English. Way easier than trying to translate.

Prices are not cheap - no surprise. Note that prices do not include VAT. It appears that the cost of VAT depends on where you are in the UK. Shipping to the UK is 45 Euros. No hint that they are targeting sales to the US.

Good point - did not realize the flags meant that the site is viewable in the language of the flag. In general I thought the site was not the best laid out or the easiest to navigate. Font sizes seem all over the place etc.

As far as VAT in the UK - from what i recall in general businesses can claim refunds/are VAT exempt although I cannot recall whether you need to pay upfront and then claim a refund or get the item VAT free upfront.

Individuals/consumers need to pay the VAT - the last I recall it was about 18% or thereabout although it has been a while since I lived there.

Larry, I never even thought to click on a flag for a different language. That should make it a lot easier for some of us, for sure.

Yeah. I was gonna say, when in a pinch, I've seen electricians tape all kinds of things to ladders as extensions. Then they leave the biggest guy on the floor to hold it down, put the middle size guy on the top step with the smallest guy on his shoulders to mount the chandelier.

Oh, I've certainly done every bit of that and more when necessary, Eric, but it would be really handy to have one that took less than half an hour to rig up for half an hour's work, eh?

The Little Giant Revolution series is very similar to the one from Germany although it only has levelers on 2 legs vs. 4 for the German one which allows for a "skewed" angle on stairs, which is a nice feature, don't know about that clamping system though. Looks a little sketchy.
