The Passing of Tom Hambrock (AKA Hammy)

I felt it my responsibility to let the JBF family hear of the passing of a very colorful friend. I learned just a while ago that Hammy had a heart attack this morning while reaching for some material on a ladder at his warehouse. I spoke with him a few days ago and can't believe how quickly life could end.

I know that he loved this place, the people here, and anything and everything to do with the tile trade. I've argued with Hammy, I've stood on soapboxes with Hammy, I've been embarrassed in his presence at how easily he could ask someone for free product, and I've grown to enjoy looking for "the hat".

He will be missed.

Wow. I've had a couple of email exchanges with Hammy and he was one of the people that I was really looking forward to meeting at Coverings.

This is very sad and unexpected news.

I searched through the photos I took in Vegas a couple of years ago. Here are two pics of Tom I don't think I posted before.
