Looks like TCNA does not cover very large glass panels. They are 4 feet x 4 feet panels installed as flooring..What are your recommendations. Currently installer is using a mud bed and than a membrane and than only 18 inch thin set..Not getting full coverage..Im thinking of recommending 3/4 inch trowel...thoughts and suggestions please
Get a hold of the manufacturer. And get your a rep involved from whatever thinset manufacturer your using. Glass moves a lot, and glass that big is scary. There need to be tons of movement accommodation and the substrate needs to be dead flat. Full coverage is a MUST! Stop the project until you have the right people guide you in person.

I can't imagine anyone specifying glass panels for a floor. Assuming it's not a suicide mission I would think one of these thixotropic mortars like Complete Contact would be a must. Maybe a euro-notch trowel.
Dan's suggestion is best though. Although I would rank it second to running away-fast.

Not sure i'd think of this as a "tile install" in the way we're used to thinking, with typical tile substrates, membranes, mortars or grouts. It just doesn't fit any of the "rules" for tile manufacture or installation.
Not sure that tile mortars are appropriate for bonding, and seems to me that something truly flexible would be required for joints.
If this were my job, I'd like to get some engineers who know glazing design, or perhaps manufacturers of glazing installation materials and equipment involved. I'd also want to do some system testing before committing to an installation... might be too late for all this now.
Where are these panels to be installed, what type of use? How thick are the panels, and how are they textured? Are they clear, is there a painted backing?

can YOU cut,make holes in the midle, L cuts
because the man who is selling/suppling you these panels is probably able to do it but when push comes to shoves he probably wont be as helpfull as he semed to be
and will these cuts last? (take a look at the large porcelain tile post)
i am not under estemating your craftmanship, but if it take you 10 panel to perform one drain, panel exploding cracking 3 weeks after....
like said before call the supliers, cement and tile. and if it sounds fishy i would leave.

Interesting product, their website claims it is like granite; fused glass/silica. If you get us samples, we would be glad to test it and make a mortar recommendation.
