Back splash Snap cutter needed.. sigma?

Hey all,

I've tried using the Search feature and to no avail.

What are you guys using for your backsplashes?

I'm in the market for a small snap cutter, since I've been doing a lot of back-splashes lately, and for the most part ,ive been using a small table top wet saw.

I recently picked up the Rubi Practic just because I have the Rubi TS plus and I can interchange the scoring wheels. But the small Rubi just isnt that great. I find that it doesn't glide well on the rails, Ive tried waxing and lube..

but I'm looking for something a little more well built and solid...

I'd be using it mainly for small format tile, glass, glass mosaic mainly 12x12's
but would be interested in a cutter that would do 14-16 diag cuts if that would fit the bill.

It sure would be nice to get Push cutter..

I was looking at the Sigma 3L3M Max but was informed that its not good for small mosaics. hows the Sigma 3L ... anyone use..
I was trying to go back n fourth with a guy on ebay that sells sigmas / ships from Italy but the language barrier makes it a little difficult to converse.

I sure would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Moved you over here where more pro's will chime in. I believe there's a sigma made for mosaics, I'll try and find the thread where it's discussed...

Dino, if you'll type snap cutter into the Advanced Search feature and ask for Titles you'll find a bunch of threads on the subject.

If you similarly type sigma you'll find a lot of threads about that brand, although I didn't see your particular model listed.

CX.... I've tried and not so much is avail from what I can find.

Ive read about the Sigma 3G, 3L those are Pull cutters... not sure if I can swap out with a Max handle and make it a push.
I'd really prefer a push handle.... just to keep the pains away from my wrists and forearm as much as possible.

Thanks guys. I found a bunch of old threads about sigmas, but they discontinue the numbers and had trouble figuring out what the new ones were.

As of now, the Sigma mosaic cutter that would be available would be the 3GMOS. At this point, I'm not sure if it's stocked in the US, but it can be built with the proper parts.

In this case, since you're looking for a max handle, I would purchase the 3G3M and a pair of the conversion tables with the mosaic pads.

can you tell me if the Sigma 64B



will fit on the Sigma 3L3M ? it say that it fits the 3L series.
However I notice that their are several different 3L series

if not, Would I be able to use the RTC Mosakit™ Mosaic Tile Cutting Mat with the 3L3M

I keep going back to the 3L3M just because it seem like a pretty nice universal cutter

I have one of those mosaic mats and it doesn't work on my Raimondi. The wheel hits before the breaker bars.

I do everything on my big sigma T4A. Does 1" tiles just as well as 32"

I recently tried out a Montolit at a store and it looked like a pretty slick machine. That will probably be my next cutter.
