Thinsets again? Mod or Not

Question
I have seen suggested the use of both modified and unmodified thinset for:
1) Use under hardi board?
2) Thinset for applying Kerdi to Hardi?
3) Thinset for Kerdi Pan to plywood?
4) Thinset for wall in shower? Not Mastic?
5) Over Hardi for electric radiant heat?

Thanks for clearing this up.

Hi Glenn, I have never used the Kerdi base, but if I was I would use a lightly modified thinset to adhere it to plywood. Check the Hardi site, manufacturer's recommendations are the best way to go. Any Kerdi I put up goes on with unmodified and the tile will be set with the same or again, a lightly modified such as Versabond or TECs Sturdi Flex.
