Expansion Joints when doing 33 offset wood planks

Hi Everyone,

Getting ready to lay wood look porcelain tiles in 33 offset. It came to my attention that I need to account for expansion.

I have accounted for the expansion between the wall and tiles (perimeter joints). Do I also need field expansion joints ?

My room is 20 x 30 ft.

You're supposed to have movement joints every 20-25 ft in the field. So it'd be nice to split that 30 ft dimension into two halves.

A movement joint is a grout joint that's filled with silicone rather than grout, FYI. You should fill it with backer rod first then 100% silicone that is color matched to your grout

Welcome to the forum, Mike.

...and If the floor is exposed to direct sunlight, the requirement for closer spacing of those joints comes into play due to greater thermal expansion/contraction. Is the floor exposed to direct sunlight?
