The greenskin allows me to skip the metal lath. Its just a bonding layer. We are over 2 layers of plywood 3/4" BC T&G followed by 1/2" BC set with a framing nail gun and ring shanked nails.
We had the spiked roller on hand, but didn't need it as the room was only 9 feet wide and 4 of that was pea gravel where the roller wouldn't work.
Sample of the SLC over GS made for Devcom

Did the same thing in my house this last winter. SLC over greenskin, only I had the WarmTiles heat cables in there.

What do you use for grade when you are on a concrete slab?

Hot glue things to the slab. Sometimes pile them up to make the right height. Spacers work nicely.

It's been a long time...
A little something most of you probably would find quite pedestrian
It is awesome to see y'all still going strong and posting the good stuff. The inspiration is boundless and the appreciation without end.
First picture: She liked the tile. Had no idea what to do with it. Bought it anyway. This is me designing on the fly. With coffee.
Second picture: Swear it was the right way round when I uploaded. Just tilt your head left now.
Third picture: Working with one headlight.
#4: The dilemma of the odd height raised bar.
And 5: All done but for the caulk and cover plates. It's been 5 months now. She still has no cover plates. I have nothing to do with that
And I polished those countertops too.

That scribe is Gueuezman level work Adriana! You didn't have him help out did ya?
Very nice. I like the tile & your design. Looks like a porcelain subway we used a few years back, but guessing it's travertine.

9"x48" porcelain wood plank tile. Was carpet over polly pebble prior. Demo crew that took out polly pebble etc, hacked it next to mullions, and outside sliders. They even rode over the aluminum slider edges, with their cart/s with the removal. Was all bent up This through a jobber here in town,so it's his responsibility and/or dust boar company(forget the exact name of demo company).

Agree Nelson! They have arrows on backside of tile,so I'm laying them all in one direction, for what it's worth. Generally I'll stagger em a bit more too,but this tile isn't the flattest stuff in the world,so trying to avoid running bond/split in middle with em.
Can't wait to get to the risers....as the tile is bowed a tad.....gonna be fun trying to match a straight piece of tile to a bow lol. Schluter has also been discussed....it's being left up to me,after verbal agreement with customer, what to use as finish (no BN lol)

Nice work Adriana and Rich
We did a project over the holidays and just went back to finish recently. Existing tile on floor and backsplash removed. No one else would remove the current tile since it went under the existing cabs and with the new countertop in they would not take the risk of damage, we did take the risk.
1/2" cement board removed, ditra installed to mate up to adjoining hardwood floors. Backsplash removed, new sheetrock and tile from Heath Ceramics. Slate 12X24's all same thickness. Homeowner is bring back the original 1960s look.
