I don't think this is going to stick. If anything it will make him more popular.

You're not alone, brother. Politicians of both parties are ruining OUR country (emphasis on OUR....as in WE the people).

Yep, you got that right Bodie. Can't really point the finger either left or right anymore. It's all F'd up and because of it and the laws that have been passed, etc, there's not really much We The People can do.

Chuck,

Yes, Texas is thriving. At least along the I-35 corridor... But, its kinda like Robert Johnson...... I think Perry went to the Crossroads and sold our souls. This isn't the first time his acts have been questioned. Why did we have to pay $10,000.00 a month rent for a house while the Governors Mansion was re-built? He ain't that special. Hell, no one is. Why should we pay for his private travels. The man is as crooked as they come. I personally hope he gets nailed to the wall. And besides, 14 years with the same "leader"?? Oh, have you looked at property taxes in Texas????? TAXES TEXAS Hmmmm....

Texas has had the same good job growth rate for forty years. Perry hasn't done anything special.

Well what ever Texas is doing it seems to be doing better then the majority of most states. Yeah Bill I thought the same thing about FL property taxes till I moved to VA for a few years. They tax you to death there.

Vehicle tax every year + car inspection and tags.
Property tax.
State income tax. <- loved that one
Sales tax on food. <- WTH
The state owned all liquor stores ABC. <- weird

I am glad to be back in FL, property & sales tax.

A fertilizer plant explodes, 16 or so people die, half a town is flattened, and the only thing that changed in Texas was the storage of highly explosive and deadly chemicals is no longer public information

What Rick Perry is being accused of in this case isn't anything out of the norm for politics everywhere. All around the nation there's political shenanigans going on. Here's why I think this will backfire on the Dems and actually make Perry more popular:

Which is an easier story to tell?
1. Governor Perry abused his power by threatening to veto... (see. you've already tuned out)

2. Governor Perry did what was necessary to get the drunk and disgraced District Attorney to resign.
People can identify with the second story. The first is too complicated. People will defend him in the second scenario.

-------

I'm all for sending Rick Perry to prison but how about we do it for an actual crime? Like his embarrassing debate performance 2 years ago. Talk about disgraceful!
