Job in Ripon, CA. Idiots across the board, Jerry check out the bond beam mud work, SMH...
Slab was poured for 3/4” paver style travertine in mind to meet up at Finish elevation flush with the pool coping which will be 3 cm BN stones. The Slab is wavy as a potato chip and varies from 3/4” thick to 3-4.5” thick in others... Work done by a cookie-cutter large pool contracting outfit.
Our concrete sub is going to demo and repour with proper a rebar grid and consistent 3.5” thickness. We’re going to retile the waterline and set the coping first for proper elevation setting for the decks and line drains against existing BF s.o.g.
Client is irate with the other guys and is happy we’re going to bail him out from wasting anymore of his $$..

Kevin, I don’t know how old that job is or if it was a union project. But back in the day a lot of the old union tile guys were Freemasons or Shriners. Some of them would always put a tile in upside down hidden somewhere because. I even think some Indian and Islamic artists follow the same thing because... “only God is perfect”

It's probably about 20 years old, best I can remember.
But if they wanted it to be less-than-perfect, they could have just looked at the grout cracking in the corners.

Nice one Mike. Hooda thought that leaving the bar code as the finished edge might not look so good.
And.... a little short on effort for the corner shelf.

Lmao. The barcode’s an up charge Jerry, it’s a special feature/accent specific for the client that works in retail. Stinking crap garbage finish work.
On a similar note. Here’s some more garbage, what a waste in material, time, money and work. A majority of the structure and plumbing will have to be reworked after the demo crew takes all of the concrete flatwork and cut a section of the raised foundation out. Waterline tile elevation is nearly 1.25” out of level from end to end on the raised wall section which is a measly 25’...

Video of the worst job, don’t wish this upon anyone....maybe on the non-paying clientele. Hard pan, quartzite and slate deposits just below grade
