Wedi seems to be one of those wonderful products that only a few people know how to get. Some guys have had to get tile stores to special order it by the pallet full.

Well, that's a big fat bummer!
I'm a job by job girl. I just want to get a piece to try it out and see if I like it before ordering a ton.
Maybe Dal?
Any suggestions anyone on where in the Bay Area, CA one might find the Wonderful Wediboard?
linda - known by many names but you can call mee smee

Linda,
From my cross-word working days, seems to me a smee is a duck. That right?
Wedi IS sold in the Bay Area. I can't remember who, though. We had a guy on here several months ago who was going to sell it in that area, I think.
Custom Building Products, just south of you, has come out with a new light-weight board.

Hi Smee
I've gone through two pallets of Wedi, and give it the "thumbs up".

Search for Bonsal. I believe their Pro panel is the "american wedi". Ask Flatfloor I think he knows. Oh, ya. I've tried to get a sample myself with no luck...so......good luck!

May I suggest you download a search engine called "web ferret" which is more european based than google etc. pulls up some seriously wierd sites but after you filter out the trash, porn and other assorted filth and junk there are usually one or two real pearls. Tucows probably has the download ready, else ferret soft is the home site.

wedi
on the search for the wedi...I'll let y'all know if I see one.
John - maybe it is a duck? I have this silly habit of always saying it'smee.....It's also Capt'n Hooks side kick, who I believe was eaten by the croc - which to the croc may make him a duck?

I called Genesis a couple weeks ago, and they hooked me up with a supplier in the Seattle area within about ten minutes. Bonsal was clueless when I'd tried them earlier, and a bonsal distributer in Seattle wanted me to want six weeks when they ordered a container from Bonsal before they would ORDER it, and and another week before arrival.
In my case, supplier here had it in stock, so I'm in business! Don't understand the distinction between Bonsal and Wedi, but maybe wedi found another avenue to get their product to market.
Call Genesis, 916 387 8500, or Wedi USA, 770 587 1293, and they can steer you to a supplier in Bay Area, I'm sure.

I think Bonsal may be selling a different product. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's Wedi. We used to have a Bonsal guy hang around here, but we gave him so much abuse I guess he gave up on us.
Where are you, Art?

Jonh, I know I'm not the Art you're looking for but....
Propannel and Wedi are one in the same. Bonsal just gave it a name when they started to distribute it.
Just wanted to add something. How many of you have used the Wedi board. What do you think.
John, maybe Art can give you some trial samples.

I've had samples here for over a year. I've never had a full sheet in my hands, though. I'm a mud man, remember?

John,
Yes, I know. I'm getting corrupted in this environment I guess
I had gone into there site and wanted to build one of those vanities, and a bench. I want to see what its about.

Watta you think?
P.S. there's a reason for the madness, I promise. I'm working on some cool things and need some durable lightweight backing.
