Bedrock Creations

Good Day Everyone !

Bedrock Creations was founded by two gentlemen, one a Professional Remodeler & General Contractor the other an established Manufacturer of steel and textile products. The combined experience of these two individuals has led to one of the most exciting and complete Granite Tiling Systems in the industry. Tolerances are key in our manufacturing process both in dimension and our Color Matching. The range of components we now manufacture eliminate all fabrication and polishing for most installations.

We are best known for our luxurious thick solid stone NON-laminated, color matched edging products. Did you know we also manufacture a color matched solution for Under Mount Sinks and thick back-splash edging in a variety of styles. We do not believe there is a more luxurious Professional looking Complete Granite System on the market today.

A complete Color Matched Granite Kitchen, Bathroom, BBQ, Fireplace, Bar-top, Archway, Stairway or Floor is now possible without Fabrication or Polishing for the DIYer or Contractor alike.

John: Thanks for the great website and the openess with which you share it

Might wanna add your first name to the signature line, too. We're a pretty friendly group.

I wish you'd rethink your instructions on the "Tips and Tricks" page. We don't think butting any tile product is a good idea. The grout won't have anything to hold onto if you grout only the chamfers. Consider a 1/16" joint instead of butting.

But we do like the two layers of 3/4 ply for the countertop base.

Them cute little tilespikes would work great for them 1/16" grout lines. I haven't seen CX plugging them too much so thought I would.

Why, yes, Tilespikes go well with any tile or stone installation. Thanks, Bryan.

Looks like it might be a little tough for me to retire on that venture, though.

Wow.. That is quite the welcome. Thank you !

My name is Jeff Schultz.

bbcamp: The Tips & Tricks page is being reworked to be far more informative. I doubt we will slip into the great debate over grout line gaps. But we might offer both opinions so that folks can decide for themselves whether to butt or not.

lou432: If you can't see the links on our site until your mouse is over them it means your browser in incapable of displaying TILED background graphics. Ironic isn't it?

We are changing the site soon to eliminated tiled backgrounds for you.

Thanks again fellas & ladies (if there are any present)... I was surprised to see such a turn out this morning.

So Jeff, what differences are there between your products and Bennissimo systems?

First let me say I think the Bennissimo product is well made. The thing people see first when comparing Bedrock Creations to Bennissimo is that their product incorporates the edge into the front field tile. While I think it looks nice without the extra grout line it does provide for some design limitations.

Bedrock Creations Edge Rail System is designed like the more traditional V-Cap and Corner. We feel this allows a more uniform look and also design flexibility. Our field tiles can be arranged in line... or in staggered brick pattern... or on a bias ! Design flexibility for the Installer really sets you apart with our system.

All our premium Edge Systems and Corners are SOLID STONE, not laminated pieces. This is not as important on small grain granite products but really really shines when you are dealing with the larger grain in some of the more interesting granite colors available today.

At this time, we have a beautiful Ogee and Double Bull-nose with a small lower edge feature in the Premium Solid Edge line that we manufacture. Because we don't laminate these Edges they are very outdoor friendly. No UV related de-lamination can occur on a solid edge rail.

We also carry a more modern and cost effective Square Edge Rail that is laminated from 2 pieces with milling details used to camouflage the lamination joint to invisibility ! We are also prototyping at my suggestion an eased upper and lower version of the Square Edge. Not quite a double bull nose but something softer for the cost conscious user that needs rounded edges.

For more completeness, we've introduced Q-Round and Q-Square products that are used to finish off Under Mount Sink installations and to Top Edge your tiled back splash. These components have a milled back lip used to stand off the edge of the tile to a thickness of 3/4" providing that thick look most people prefer.

Lastly, we are working on a whole slew of Design Elements in the form of creative Inlays. Clearly our website needs to catch up to our product.

We've created a product that we feel is unique in that a DIYer can pick it up on a Friday and grout it on a Sunday without looking for answers on polishing edges while enjoying that thick solid stone look. The Professional Installer can take Design Rich Installations to a whole new level of creativity while spending less time on Shaping and Polishing individual pieces of stone.

I hope that helps those of you that have been kind enough to ask about our product. We do appreciate your interest !

I'll try to add some cropped images to this post when I can find some that are to the point and illustrate the features I have tried to describe for you.

Jeff
