Unhappy Porcelain Tile

We are attempting to install Porcelian Tile on our backsplash in kitchen. However we are using 17" *17" Floor tile. We are having some difficulty being able to cut out squares in the center of the tile for our outlets and light switchs. We have tried the Roto Zip bits for tile and a handheld tile saw, and nothing will cut through, it just burns out the bit. Do you have any suggestions??
Thanks much

An angle grinder with a diamond blade will do the trick, but you may first want to try getting hold of a diamond cutting disc for your rotozip.

Angle grinder at Harbor Freight Tools: 12 bucks.
4" diamond blade at Harbor Frieght Tools: 15 bucks.
Being able to cut squares in porcelain tile: priceless.

Rachel, there is a thread in the Liberry on cutting holes through porcelain that might give you some ideas.

Glad you joined us by the way.
