Sorry for delay in following up--was on vacation. Yes, also having problem with grout disintegrating in corners (see pictures). Could this be related to grout discoloration on floor? I do not know what kind of grout installer used or anything about thinset below tiles.

Big question: Is your best guess this is a grout problem or, alternatively, a problem with the shower pan not draining properly (resulting in grout remaining wet)? A grout problem can be fixed by regrouting if necessary; a hassle but doable. An improperly built pan (e.g., not sloping below liner) would presumably require the shower be torn out and redone again.

Installer is coming to inspect next week. Any suggestions regarding what specific things I should suggest he try or look into to identify root cause of discoloration problem.

I'm so sorry your having this problem. If my new shower looked like this I would be so distraught. Is it a hard grout in those vertical corners? Or flexible caulking than can have sand in it but remains slightly rubbery?
