Your opinion on orientation of tiles entryway

Good afternoon everyone. Thanks to all of the help I found here, my last house endured my efforts in each room that could sustain tile.

After a number of years, I have moved my family to a new larger home and have new jobs to tackle.

My first job in this house is to tile the front entrance with 12 by 24 blue Montauk slate. Natural face rectified.

What I would like to ask you folks for your opinion on is the orientation of the tiles. Perpendicular to the doors/natural light? Or parallel to suit the length of the space?

I've provided a photo to give me an idea of what it looks like..I'm planning on a 1/3 offset pattern. I should mention that all of the hallways and hardwood flooring flow from the back of the house towards the front door and are very very prominent.

Subfloor is three-quarter inch OSB with 3/4 inch plywood screwed over top and ditra with megaflex. 16oc joists 8 ft span at that point of the house. Deflectometer suitable for stone.

Thanks for your time. I will be lurking and contributing here more often now.

You'll likely get differing opinions and the only one that matters is yours. If this were mine, I'd run the tiles cross ways of the doors. That way the pattern can be seen when walking in and out.

Haha. I suppose it's. I thought perhaps that some rules of thumb or technical reason would push it one way or the other.

I am also leaning towards them running across the door.

I would also start full tiles at the wood floor as long as the cuts at the door are half size or bigger.
