i have a question

i watch a bit of HGTV and have noticed that on selling the houses that are being flipped they mention "closing costs" one i saw tonight the were going to be 50k so what are closing costs?

There are actually several different costs related to selling of the house. Here's a link.

I've never heard of one costing that much, but I guess it's certainly possible, especially if there's back taxes owed or something.

I just bought for $129,000 and my closing costs totaled $14,000 +/-

That's a lot. My loan (not value) was similar to yours and I don't think the costs were one-third that much.

the one i was referring to was selling for 1.3mill. it was christine and tarak? they look like they are made out of plastic, not the houses the flippers

When property taxes are $10k a year it adds up real fast.
....and that's without the STAR program. One of the reasons we left the area.
