commercial chemicals and epoxy floors

I do most of my work in restaurants. A company called Ecolab make a chemical called "Wash and Walk" Its a chemical that breaks down grease.

They are suppose to clean the floor pour this stuff down let it soak and rinse. Unfortunate most people use it as a cleaner and just dump and walk not rinsing.

I've read somewhere (here I think) that the use of some cleaning chemicals like these actual break down the epoxy's.

Any info would be great.

I think your question will do better here, John.

'Cept I can't really determine what the question is.

If you're using that product on a regular basis, John, I'd get hold of your local Laticrete rep and talk with him about the problems.

Pretty helpful folks, those.

If you're not familiar with your Laticrete rep, call the home office at 800-243-4788 and they'll be happy to put you in touch.

There is a new ANSI standard as it pertains to these no-rinse cleaners. This ANSI standard maintains this is a maintenance issue not an installer issue. Contact Laticrete(Art Mintie) and have him forward their PDS sheets and ANSI language. This has become a serious issue in the commercial kitchen industry. Mapei has a product called Kerapoxy IEG that is supposed to hold up to these no-rinse cleaners.
