I am thinking about the CBU layout for the floor such that the seam once redgard'ed doesn't create uneven tile surface for the toliet to sit on.
What do you think of this (see pic and blue dividing line). Full piece on the right and 2' wide piece on the left. I originally wanted the full piece in the more visible area on the left, but now I am thinking better to put the full piece where the toilet is. Probably not a huge difference either way, but figured I'll ask.

Dealer's choice, Dan.
Many folks who use CBU on floor installations apply the thinset mortar and mesh tape while they are setting the tiles instead of doing it beforehand so's to eliminate, or at least minimize the problem with making those speed bumps.
My opinion; worth price charged.

I love dealers choice... 
I am planning to redgard as an extra crack prevention insurance and since I have it anyway so I would need to tape before hand..

The floor CBU is installed (mortared in as per mfr. instructions) and spaced 1/4" at the perimeter.
Is 1/16" ok between the tub's apron and first row of floor tiles?

In that small of a space 1/16th will probably due, Dan, but 1/8th ish is safer.

Thx. The bottom plates of the spin Dr. is somewhere in between so I may use that...
The CBU is redgard'd as well (still drying). I used the mastic side of the CBU facing up so the redgard was much easier to apply (compare to the walls).

Thanks Dan for the Spin Dr. recommendation. It did the trick. I had no lippage whatsoever.
A few did break but it is to be expected. I definitely got better results than last time around before I knew better and used no system on 18 x 18 marble, and soft spacers that got squashed under the weight of the tiles. I can see though how a pro would want to use the best system money can buy. I had to watch out for the spacers pushing the tiles apart when tightening. These garbage marfill tiles would break with the slightest pressure on them so I used the system to keep the tiles mostly in place once set vs. bringing them to flat with force. It was not hard to get 100% coverage with 3/8" square notch trowel on a 12 x 12 tiles. In fact I think i would have been able to go one size down as I had to deal with tons of thinset oozing out but preferred to be safe. I removed quite a bit of tiles to verify coverage and specifically where something "interesting" was happening (CBU Seams, Niche, Schluter profile etc').
Given how brittle these tiles are I was too scared to kick the tops off. I pulled the stems out with a vise instead. Mostly came out without a problem. In some cases I waited too long to remove them, pushed the tiles together too hard and the CBP natural stone mortar is very gritty so some broke flush with the tiles. An oscillating tool did short of those.

I was nervous ahead of using trim (schluter) for the first time but it was really a non-issue. It was there, I tiled to it, and it was just fine. Held it in place temporarily with hot glue. Low temp works better since high temperature pulled out the redgard with it.

The niche... I am happy I was able to pull off the mitered cuts... I picked up a 24 x 24 tile for it from Floor and Decor to have a single piece for the back. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they apply epoxy to the back of their marble. I wish the tiles i got at the stone place had that as well. I left a small drip ledge at the bottom and of course gave it a slope.
