So, all I gotta do is follow all those codes listed and I'll be good to go?

Sad thing is local inspectors with their own personal desires makes all that stuff secondary. Everything we do is "by the book". Always. No exceptions. Latest electrical inspector we have in one city is UN-DE-SCRIBE-A-BLE. He acts like we shot his dog or something.

With a fundamental lack of checks & balances, there is way too much power for some inpectors to use without abusing it.

in Maine every town with over 2000 residents is now supposed to have a building inspector that is supposed to know plumbing, electrical, stuctural etc codes.....Most towns only employ their CEO for around 10-20 hours per week and pay about $15/hour....no way will 1 person be able to fufill all those responsibilities....Hell, the house I'm building now has never been inspected, even the plumbing inspector didn't come out to looksee, he was notified and paid but never came out.....good thing I'm a consciencious builder cause there are some that aren't.......
