Tiling the Shower: Details

The shower is ready for tile with Durock walls and a mortar bed floor built to John Bridge specs. I'm using Daltile 12x12 ceramic tile on the walls and 2x2 mosaic on the floor. Here are my questions:

1. What size trowel do you use for the 2x2's?
2. Using 12x12's on the wall, do you need to use a ledger board under the first course?
3. Is the floor typically done last?
4. How are the corners handled on the walls? Does the first wall you tile go all the way to the corners leaving say, a 1/8 gap, at each corner, and then the adjoining wall is butted up to it (with room left for the grout joint)?
5. Daltile recommends a 1/16 grout joint for the walls with this tile, and the tile is designed to butt up to each other and leave a 1/16 grout joint. Sound ok?
6. Do you caulk the wall to floor joint?
7. Do you caulk or grout the tile to plastic drain joint?

Thanks for the help

Use a 1/4" notch for 2 x2.

A ledger is an easy way to start level. I prefer to start off the floor, but it doesn't matter.

I tile my floors last. Again, it doesn't matter. I like to know exactly what I'm dealing with on the floor.

Keep an 1/8" min gap from the corners, and 1/16" min all the tiles.

I never caulk anything in a shower, except when its a steamer.
