Mag-Board
This is new to me. cheaper than wonderboard or hardi (by about a buck), 25% lighter, white in color, still snaps with a knife.
Think I'm going to give it a try the next job.

I swear years back the guy was on here trying to find out how to get this backer tested, I tried searching but couldnt' come up with anything. I remember a lot of people really giving him a hard time cause he didn't know much about tile. Maybe one of the guys with a better memory than me can remember.

Definitely not trying to dampen anyone's enthusiasm, but I don't see anywhere that these boards are approved for tile in showers, etc. That's where it counts, doesn't it?

If this is the same stuff (magnesium core stuff) it is gonna change the world as we know it. Not gonna waste my time reading that old thread but I seem to remember not needing any ply under this stuff it was so good. Just buy the 1 inch mag-core and you are good to go. It ain't afraid of no water, just slap it in.

Cuts with a knife and you don't need ply under it?
White kerdi board?
made/distributed by who?
Who specs it as an undelayment or wall surface suitable for thinset/tile installs? Thinset manufacturer, TCNA, anybody?
.
