Custom travertine bathroom sill/threshold?

I am in the process of installing a new ceramic tile floor in a redone bathroom at my GF's house. She also got a new vanity with a travertine top. The new tile floor is going to be 1" higher than the hardwood oak floor in the hall outside the bathroom so I need a transition from the hall to the bath. The standard bathroom sills I saw at a big home inprovement store were only up to 3/4" thick so I can't use them.

Can someone tell me if I can get a custom travertine sill made to do the job? I could look at local stone places but I was wondering if there was a place on the Internet where I could order one to specs and save a few bucks. Thanks.

Good Morning and Welcome, Flash.
Gotta first name? I think you could probably order one from the Internet, BUT the shipping you'd have to pay and the risk of it getting broke may not be so good. Finding a local stone guy would also benefit you by actually being able to look at the color of the stone before cutting for a good match.

Thanks for the reply Brad. My friends call me Flash actually. You make a good point. Any idea what a reasonable price would be for something like that? I know the marble ones in the stores cost around $25 but of course they are off-the-shelf and not travertine. I also want to get a backsplash for the vanity to match the travertine top because it didn't come with one.

Flash,
I honestly don't know pricing for stone fab. It should all be saw cuts and polishing without getting into the price of actual profiling, which can be expensive. Try giving someone a call in your area and see if they can give you a rough idea. You'll need to go look at the stone for sure though as stone can vary widely and matching travertine can be tricky.
