Feral Hogs....
They are a HUGE problem, particularly in Texas. I have shot dozens of them in Palestine, Texas at my cousin's farm. Never from a "chopper," but it's a good deal.....

Thassa big ol' pig, Davy!
Rumored to have had some sightings in our county (Kendall) at home, but nothing substantiated that I know of.
Where I'm currently working (Southern New Mexico) they have had a problem with those things in the National Forests for years. Don't know what the status is recently, but they can do a tremendous amount of damage if not curtailed. They have a non-game status here and anyone with any kind of hunting license can carry off as many as he might want.

Private property, maybe not, Laz. But I believe in Texas, just like NM, to shoot anything at all on public land you must have a hunting license to be carrying a firearm during any hunting season. Some exceptions apply, of course.

You are correct. Private lands all have to do with the agreement with the landowner. PUBLIC land might be different, although most will allow you open shooting. When in doubt...check the laws out. (although probably pretty liberal) most Counties want to get rid of them....

Most land in Texas is privately owned.
We have hogs around here. (Lakes and Prairie Country) just east of Austin.

Looks like those RR ties needed replacing, anyway, Ed. You should be thanking the hogs for removing them, no?

This boy and his father are friends with my son in law in East Texas. This hog killed one of his hunting dogs.

On my .41 acre lot, probably not the best idea I was thinking along the lines of a beer at the local pub.
