Mapei Grout

I am using Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA grout in a shower

Instructions indicate that it can have foot traffic in 3 hrs.How long should I let it cure before shower use?

Thanks in advance

For at least 3 days after completion, protect from rain and
freezing, and do not immerse the installation in water."

I'd go with three days. Although product data sheet says you can clean it in 24 hours, not sure why you would need to clean it after 24 hours if you don't use it for 3 days...

Hey there Chad,

You can open up the area to foot traffic after 3 hours, and use the shower after 24 hours. If the installation area is cold, it may take a bit longer for the grout to cure.

The 72 hour/3 day protection recommendation is for submerged installation like pools, fountains, and etc. It also applies to exterior areas, because the grout may be saturated in water and stay that way for some time. In a shower, the grout will get wet, and then dry out not long after due to the way showers are designed and constructed.

I hope that helps!
