Those sleepers would, per deck manufacturer's instructions, be oriented perpendicular to the drain direction of the deck, David. Definitely providing many places for water that penetrates the decking to pool and cause..........?

I would place the sleepers in the direction of the water flow to avoid pooling. The deck boards would be the other direction.
