Blue (Foam?) Shower Pan/Got wet

Greetings! Ive definitely been lurking and finally got another stumper. . Kind of a long shot. . Was wondering if any of you are familiar with a (blue?) foam shower pan that was under what the customer described as 'like wonderboard but not as thick', he had water leak through it and it got this blue foam stuff wet. I thought it might be kerdi foam but kerdi foam isn't blue afaik. . But he really wanted to know if it can dry out? Yall ever had this kind of thing happen?

Maybe the Durock shower system, since it's blue. I'm not sure what color the Wedi foam is.

Either way, if the waterproofing layer is breached for whatever reason, it's unlikely that it can be repaired properly if the tile has been installed. Can't say for sure without more information.

Wedi board is a blue core. Probably their shower pans are too.

gotcha. yeah I think it was wedi board. out of curiousity, in the event that an shower that an installer did for a customer fails . . what usually happens? does an installer come back out to evaluate? In what way are they responsible I guess? The guy I talked too seemed to be taking a lot of the burden on himself, which is fine, I just wasn't sure how to advise him. I mean I know what happens when our installers mess something up but not quite sure whats normal in the non big box world

The installer is supposed to warranty their installations. But sometimes they don't. Sometimes the homeowner doesn't want them back.
