Recommendation for Kitty Litter resistance?

I'm advising a friend regarding her bathroom remodel. She'd like to replace the old linoleum with tile, but is concerned about kitty litter getting into the grout, since her cat's litter box is in the bathroom. Is there any type of grout treatment or other strategy to make cleaning the grout less of a problem?

I was recommending that she go with octagon-and-dot or other small tile that would be appropriate in her 1916 house, but she's cringing at the prospect of all those dirty grout lines. I'd hate to see her end up with linoleum again ...

Thanks --

Chris

Your friend's floor is a great candidate for Spectralock grout.

SpectraLock is still a sanded grout and dirt will still stick to it, it just wont stain it.
surface dirt is surface dirt.

some people were made for linoleum.

I'll run it up the flagpole

Thanks, guys -- SpectraLOCK is good to know about! It may not be enough to sway my friend, but I'll definitely try it myself if I get the opportunity. -- Chris
