Earlier comments about potter/clay work in the MUD BOX forum have already shown interest in the subject..... and that is what this MUD BOX is all about.... interest in the subject. :---)

Here is an oldie but a goodie tile job I did.
One of my mermaid sculptures; big mamma we call her.
Porcelain cups.
Functional ware I make.
and the CPMC Project I did 17 mosaic panels for handmaking each and every tile even down to the dime size tiles I'm still trying to recover from...

Thank you, exquisite!!!. Anyone who makes hand made tiles knows the effort it took to make and finish that kind of project and will appreciate it. The smaller the tiles , the more effort it took to pull it off.

So, fellow tile people and Chuck fromMounmtain Tile specifically, post your pictures of your "manifique" tiles and or projects. Chuck, if I can learn to post a picture on this site, so can you. I think it is made so easy that we sort of get confused, I know I did. Chuck we are all interested in what you did so post your picture. We are all waiting breathlessly.

I do know there are many tile setters who are extremely talented and hard working making pieces of art in their own way. Many of them actually make things in clay and I think we are interested in all lof their works hand made or otherwise. So post a picture of your piece of art. I am presently busy getting my gallery open for the tourist season and am doing not so talented work, scrubbing cleaning and so forth.

Well this is all very interesting. Ingebord, I went to your site back when you first joined us and so have seen some of your work. Would love to see it posted here as well.

I must admit to a certain bit of envy. I have no artistic talent and can't really seem to find something, besides cooking, that lights my fire. Maybe one day I'll find my niche. (OMG, I just realised I shouldn't have used that terminology. CX and Dave will be giving me what for about showers or some such nonsense. )

Don't sell yourself short, everyone has artistic abilities, just let them come out. Fear is the worst thing.

Do you mind telling me how you constructed the mermaid. I haven't done much sculpural works like that and want to do a fish of some kind. Did you sculpt the mermaid in one piece, cut it in half and hollow it and reassemble or what? Details please. It is very cool. I am also interested in what cone you fire to.

I'll post some of my earlier tile works. Not tonight but shortly. Stay tuned.

Here is a project done in 2004 or 2005. The tiles are glazed with a shino glaze and fired in reduction to Cone 10. They were then painted with low fire glazes and refired in an electric kiln to cone 06 (I think)

this is a bit of an inside joke -- neesie gave me a lift in SC at scluterville
and somehow was able to shoehorn my big ass into her tiny little car . . .

when we opened the door I popped out of the thing like a jack-in-the-box.
