I disagree Lump, and there is nothing in your link that says displaying the flag upside down .."shows disrespect to America" as you say.

It only means one thing.

I'm an American.

I served my country in the military.

I will display the flag as I see fit.

Jason, thank you for serving this great country! Yes it is your right to display the flag upside down. Just was wondering why....that's all.

Yeah, I don't think I meant the tone or whatever in my reply to you Brad.

Was just trying to say, the flag upside down infers NO DISRESPECT.

I know people do a lot of things with the flag that are disrespectful - some intentionally and some not. And since we all know disrespect of the flag when we see it I think we should all know the other meanings behind the way the flag is displayed. i.e. - Half mast, folded and the rest that are described in your link.

The upside down American flag is a symbol of distress. Nothing more.

I know some groups try and use it as a sign of disrespect but it just shows their ignorance and doesn't change it's true meaning.

....and you don't have to thank me for serving the country. You already thanked me with a paycheck, 3 squares a day and room and board.

Man, it's been spring here for a week and now they is saying it's gona be winter again here the next couple of weeks. Sick of it. My old back can't take it.

I snuck out into the woods last week to check for sheds and instead ran into a couple studs still wearing their headgear. Should be soon.
