According to our Dear Leader

"Yesterday marked a milestone in preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,"

North Korea doesn't have erl.

That seems to make a huge difference to some folks.

And look at all the mass destruction North Korea has imposed on the rest of the world.

The Korean situation is far more complicated involving several super powers in the region. We get to have it both ways with Iran. While not appealing to hawks, the U.S. can use diplomacy with Iran knowing full well that Israel will never allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. Should the U.S. get intelligence from Israel on Iran's nuclear capability, then the U.S. can provide Israel with our "bunker-buster bombs" which can destroy underground enrichment facilities.

Ed, not saying you are wrong in the case of North Korea; provide some alternatives?

North Korea has been singing the same song for decades, "we'll do something really bad unless you give us lots of money" That's been working for both of us for quite a spell.

It's not at all clear that China would support all out aggression by North Korea. It has far more to lose than it used to.

I would point out once again that there is only one country on our planet that has ever used a nuclear weapon against the civilian population of another country. Twice.

So why would that country be so upset that other countries would also want to have such weapons?

personally, I think the Iran "deal" is the only positive thing to come out of the administration.

as far as I can tell, once one penetrates the neocon BS (which has led to nothing but trouble for us and the rest of the world) Iran has had no nuclear weapon program since about 2002, if ever. that is according to both our intelligence agencies and those of Israel.

As a signatory the the non proliferation treaty, Iran has every right to pursue a peaceful nuclear energy program, and that is what they have been doing. Our good friends the Israelis have never signed onto the treaty, but yet have between 60 and 200 nuclear warheads--a bit hypocritical of those in our government screaming bloody murder about the deal.

Sanctions like those we have insisted the entire world join in are in fact an act of war--something the USG seems to think it has immunity from the rules of international law, and can start anywhere any time. If we can avoid (or actually cool off) another hostile relationship --one that so many want to turn into a hot war --it is a win-win for everyone involved. Haven't we invented enough enemies in the area to keep us busy until our empire's final collapse??

Agreed...just hope the Israeli intelligence is correct, don't have a lot of faith in ours.
