Wireless Help

We are going wireless in our new office. I bought a Lynksys WRT160N wireless broadband router and the adapters for the computers. Also bought a wireless printer. The printer has an ethernet port on it, but it will not be by the router to hard wire it. Will a Linksys WGA600N Gaming Adapter work on a printer? Is this the way to go? Here is a link for the adapter

Any help appreciated

Hi Dave,
Ummm...if you got a wireless printer then whatcha need the hard wire for? Now, if that printer is not wireless but has just the hard ehternet prot then that adapter will work just fine.

Duh...

Yes Joe, I misspoke/mistyped. The printer is network capable but it is not wireless, I'm trying to make it wireless. Thanks for the response. If that'll work, that's what I'll get.

I wouldn't try the game port. You either should get a wireless print server or relocate your printer to be near your router.

Wiley, why not just go out and get an actual wireless printer? I bet it wouldn't cost much more than trying to make your existing printer wireless - and it might even print better.

Hi Dan,

I should've 'splained it's more than just a printer. Here is a link to it. Canon MF6590 . Already bought the wireless adapter at Circuit Citys "going out of business no returns sale". Will let you'll know if the gaming adapter works after we get it all hooked up.

More importantly, does it do drywall mudding?

Not sure what it all does, or how well. Haven't hooked it up yet. But one thing is for sure, it does drywall mudding better then the people that we hired.

Wiley - did you get the printer on wireless? If not you might want to check out the Silex Print Server

Printer is working great on the network, but we hard wired it. Originally, the satellite internet provider said they could only wire on an outside wall. When the installer arrived, he could use an interior wall for 75 bucks more. Problem solved. Which means the Linksys WGA600N Gaming Adapter is still in the box. Anyone need one? Maybe I should put it on the new Buy/Sell/Trade Forum.

Thanks anyway for the link, Art.
