There might be 5 pieces on a sample board somewhere.

I here ya dana, but 5 new sample boards might be tricky.

So more to the story, This job is for a showroom that I sub for somtimes, the work ticket was 20 sqft short on field tile and 5 liners short. The field tile will be in be the end of next week, but we cant find the liner anywhere except on the container headed back accross the pond.

I just want to get this done and get paid. owner of the shop wants me to install field leaving a space for the liner but im concerned as this is a but joint install cause the speced non-sanded grout.

Jeremy, you need the liner and not the 1x1's? I think everybody in this thread thought you needed the 1x1's.

Here's the way I see it: It's not your fault that you don't have the liners. The liners, being 10 inches, aren't going to conform to the wall (I think this is a kitchen backsplash?). If you leave the liners out, there's a chance they won't go in later because they are: a) wider than you thought, b) more narrow than you thought, or c) don't conform to the wall enough.

I would make it very clear to them what could happen and that it may cause problems doing it the way they want to do it. If they balk, I would just leave it unfinished.

I used to work for shops and, at one point in my life, I would have done what they wanted and I was very much a company man. But when the economy tanked, I came to realize that the past was quickly forgotten. I simply won't let someone else make my decisions anymore.

But everybody's got to do what's best for them.

Jim, that is correct. Notice in my first post I refered to the 10" liner which matches the field tile and is modular with the 5" field tile installed.

I do not need the sonoma 1x1's (thanks for the help jerry)

Jim, I'm well aware of what the issuses are trying to incorperate another manufacturer run. Theres no way im going to set any of this wall without having all the material. That is why im reaching out to everyone here, I would like to get these pcs im short and move forward.

Adex makes a liner exactly like that. Go to Adexusa.com click on Hampton Collection for "crackle" finish or Neri Collection for solid glaze finish. Look for the "Stripe Liner". They are around $3 - $4 each. Good Luck!
