So I did the floor for the shower and in trowling the thinset on I must have broken up some of the mortar because there were some small pebble (used sand topping mix and sand for my bed (both quickrete brands)) that I must have kicked up in trowling and I tore the membrane.. did so in couple spots...small punctures where the pebble was under...iI pulled the membrane off and scraped off the thinset... Iím assuming I can thinset over this and apply the membrane again?
Guess my bed isnít as smooth as it should be maybe the thinset skim cost will help with that

Yes, you can skim coat with thinset.

When I bought multiple bags of all-purpose sand for my first shower mud bed, there was one bag that oddly had much coarser aggregate in it. There can be inconsistency with sand from bag to bag. With my recent mud bed I preferred using play sand which was completely smooth. But yes, a skim coat of thinset on top will help.
