The commercial straps are the bees knees. So much better then cleaning and assembling straps. Still keep the other straps for versatility. But just about only use the commercial ones.

They seam to remove easy. I find them to make less of a mess when inserting under tile as well which is probably why they are easy to remove. We used about 2000 on a job and never had a stuck strap next day

Yeah the new custom caps are sweet

The new straps are really nice. been using them for a while now.
If you don't have time to assemble the other style that's cool.
MLT was originally invented for thin tile.
But the 1 pc had to be made for guys who don't have the time or are on a fast paced project.
Either one you use make sure you recycle the leftover waste.
It's Mick's vision to use and waste less plastic.

Cool caps there Brian! I was hoping the original mlt man would chime in on the commercial straps one question though does the side shear method of removal work with them?

No, as they are plastic and not stainless,as the reusable strap.
The one piece straps are made of a mix of plastic and design, that allow the strap to come loose even with some residue around it. Still I would clean the grout joints real good whenever possible. One piece and reusable works differently and are made for specific type of install. Like Brian said, MLT was born for the install of thin tile And very large form, where you can't afford to have a strap to brake in the joints and risk of damage edge of tile during the cleaning process, as the cost of replacement will be hurtful for the contractor wallet and the damage to adjacent tiles could be all the way too real. The one piece is for porcelain tile up to 24x24 in commercial Enviroment or whenever you don't have the time to assemble on a fast pace install. Hope this make sense. Hopefully soon ( we wanted to implement it as soon as we can) we will have a program that will reward recycling.

Thank you.

On my second box of commercial straps. Love them Mick. Thank you for another great product option.

Usage reference on my first box one nice thing is that with my metal straps I was only able to use number one on my gun, with these straps I can set it at level two and get a really tight grip. And they snap off really nice.

Mick you don't have to worry about starting up a recycling program for the straps. You just need to change your marketing to say:

"Box includes 1000 MLT straps with 1000 1/16 inch spacers included"

Kevin, we will have a reward program. In the meantime if you can recycle or use em as u said as shims and spacers. The one piece strap work differently then the reusable. For the reusable to work efficiently the caps should have the metal inserts.

Thank you.

just started in on my first box of commercial straps I'm liking em a lot. I can reef down on them on setting two and not break em and when it comes time to remove them they come out easer than the two piece straps using the snap method

Is there any difference between the different colored tensioning guns? I spied a blue one on eBay and thought it might be a good start on the system, but not if it's an old design. Current ones appear to be green.

Thoughts?
