Need to Find a Tile Contractor in Indianapolis
Bill Vincent posted a response in a Garden Web thread that if one was looking for a tile contractor, in a specific city, who is an expert in using the Kerdi System, that he would suggest posting a message in the Pro Hangout Thread in the John Bridge Forum.
So how about it guys / gals?
What is the best way of finding an excellent contractor in the Indianapolis area who is an expert in installing the Kerdi System?

Hi Tim, since I'm from Dayton I'm going to wait to see if any our Indy board members reply. In the meantime, tell us a little about your project.

Yo?
We are doing basic replacement of tile surround around the tub and we will be doing the same in the stand alone shower.
Don't know if underlying work will also have to be done or not.
Want to install new faucets and both hand showers as well as standard wall showers - nothing fancy. The hand showers are to facillitate cleaning and of might also be used for showering.
For the stand alone shower, would also be interested in a tile shower floor rather than the prefabricated pan that is currently there.
We may do the entire baths (2 of them) at the same time but not sure about that yet.
At some point will be doing new counters in the kitchen and am interested in tile for that too - using the Kerdi method and trim pieces.
May do tile counters - again using Kerdi method and trim pieces - in the baths at the same time that the baths are done - if we decide to go with something other than pedestal sinks....
The tile surrounds and stand alone shower will be basic - perhaps some accent tiles but not out of this world.
We are interested in tile and the Kerdi Method because of Kerdi's website and because of this website - Kerdi's reputation for waterproofing and because of tile's inherent longevity - if installed correctly.
Does this help?

Yeah Tim, good out line of what your looking for.
If you don't get any responses from local tile folks on this forum, you might try Dal-tile or Mees Dist. Visit their showrooms and ask if they can recommend someone who is familiar with the Schluter Kerdi system.

Tim,
When are you looking to get this done? I would caution you about doing both bathrooms at the same time....very bad. Get one room done and then start on the next one. I just don't think it is a good idea to demo 2 at one time.
BTW, what part of Indy do you live in?

Pat and everyone else,
We are just starting to look at options and posting here was a first step in that effort.
We will be doing the project sooner rather than later but we don't have a definite starting date yet.
I agree, we wouldn't do both showers at the same time.
I'll be back in touch as our plans take shape.
Thanks for your replies

Mees Tile and Marble is an excellent source for ideas and recommendations for your area.
They have an extremely knowledgeable staff able to accommodate most anything.
Louisville Tile is another quality distributor in your area.

Thanks Ernie
Ernie,
I've just looked quickly at Mees website and will return to it.
I have heard good things about Tremain and we plan to contact them but would never have heard of Mees without your mentioning them - thank you.
