Survey Request--MBA Tile Research Project

Dear John Bridge Forum Members:

My name is Josh Hodgson and I'm an MBA student at the University of California, Irvine. I am conducting research on tile installation prices for tub/showers and showers and have developed a survey to measure regional differences in pricing. The survey will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes and all analysis will be performed in aggregate.

LINK:

Please see my signature below for the survey link!

It would be great if you could complete the survey as well as forward the link to any of your fellow industry professionals who you feel can provide valuable input.

Please email me at jhodgson09@merage.uci.edu if you have any questions. Otherwise, thank you for helping with the research project and I look forward to your responses.

Hi Josh--

I don't know how many replies you'll get outside of California. Not many other places that use hot mopping for the shower pan membrane.

Thanks for the feedback Bill!

If hot mopping is not a service you offer or do not have a need for in your local market, please skip that scenario.

all showers need waterproofing ,just no one out side of CA. uses Hot Mop. Also most tile guys do'nt do the mopping in CA. they sub it out..There are many membranes that are used instead of hot mopping..

Hi Josh,

Since your survey doesn't ask for any region information I'm assuming you will use the ip address of each survey participant to figure out what region they are in.

It would be better if you listed specific regions or asked for the participant's state (assuming all are US based.).

Counting on the ip address to locate someone is simply not a reliable method.

Hi Joe,

I agree, using an IP address is not the most efficient means to gather regional data. I have included question 6 that asks for each respondent's city and state.

Question 6:

"6. Please indicate the city and state where you primarily offer your services."

Please let me know if anyone is having trouble viewing the survey, in particular question 6, as this information is crucial to determine regional trends.

Thank you.

Josh

Hi Josh,
Did I miss that or did you modify the survey? I see question #4 takes care of the hot mop issue the other guys were having. CPE liner is a popular method for a pan. In Massachusetts they use copper pans Some places still use lead pans and Florida....well let's not go there!
