Tiling on Cement . . .?
Happy New Year all, I've appreciated all the advice I've already gotten from this forum.
We are wondering how to approach tiling our laundry room, which is on a different slab than the rest of the house. It's basically a cement floor with (very old) vinyl tiles stuck on top.
Some of the vinyl tiles have cracked over the years, and small pieces are missing. Should we remove all the old vinyl and adhesive and try to put some type of subfloor down before tiling, or leave the remaining vinyl, level as best we can, and tile on top?
Or, is it even possible to attach subflooring to a slab?
Thanks for any suggestions.
