After some soul-searching and decided I’m gonna do mine a deck mud floor instead of the prefab floor. The cost of the prefab floor is pretty high and due to the size of my floor (4x5) there isn’t a good prefab linear shower pan for that size.

1. I read that plumbing drain needs to be 2 1/8 inches away from wallboard on center. My current drain is 3 7/8 inches away from the stud. Does that mean I need to build out the wallboard 1 3/4 inches or can I make it work with current distance minus 1/2 inch wallboard?

2. For 5 feet length of shower floor should I shoot for a slope of more than 1/4 drop per foot?
