I found a lot of useful information here on constructing shower pans. However, it is not clear to me how thick a conventional (non Kerdi) shower pan should be. I understand the pre-slope is about 3/8" thick at the drain. What is the additional thickness of the final mortar layer? I'd like to keep it as thin as recommended.
