I know some people say don't put any grout in a joint like that.

They are maybe thinking it will get dirty, and not look good down the line.

But that type of grout (unsanded) can be pulled out and regrouted if it gets too ugly. So, might as well just grout it and maintain the grout. It will be good for the life of the house, but may need periodic replacement, is all.
