question RE: sealing polished marble when using a stainproof grout

we are laying a liglht-colored marble for our floor and have purchased a stainproof/mildew proof grout that has Teflon in it. Can we put a water-based penetrating sealer over the marble and grout, or should we seal the marble first? I assume the grout will not be absorbing any sealer and that the marble will absorb very little.
Also, is it totally necessary to seal my marble that goes on the floor if water beads up pretty good on it? I think I should definitely seal that which goes in the shower. Any help appreciated!
